Sicuramente renderebbe meglio, però allunga troppo la frase rispetto
all'originale.
La lascio com'è, direi che è un buon compromesso.

Sempre per non allungare troppo la frase, ho messo "dentro la
regione", tra l'altro sembra suoni meglio di "interno alla regione"
